Job Summary
Nestled between the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains and Salt

The Office of Admissions is seeking a personable, energetic, and
poised Assistant Director of International Recruitment. Under the
guidance of the Deputy Director of Admissions, this person will
play a vital role within the team, focusing on critical aspects of
recruiting International students to the Salt Lake City campus.
This position will assist with the development, implementation, and
assessment of an international recruitment strategic plan for the
Office of Admissions. Integral to this role is ensuring superior
levels of customer service, and fostering seamless interactions
between prospective students, university departments, and various
stakeholders. The Assistant Director may oversee other
International Admissions Counselors as our efforts grow and
expand.
Responsibilities

setting recruitment short and long-term goals. Establish internal
objectives and implement procedures to meet goals.
Assist with the development, implementation, reporting and
assessment of a strategic international recruitment plan.
Assess the impact and success of international recruitment
strategies and tactics through collecting and analyzing various
types of data to recommend and implement improvements and changes
to existing efforts.
Help with the training/development, supervision, support,
evaluation, and retention of full-time, professional staff
members.
Work closely with the other recruitment managers to support an
office culture of accountability, team-work, and consistency.
Engage with internal and external International Student focused
organizations and departments that support the University's
enrollment strategy and goals
Manage recruitment requests, event registrations, and staff
coverage.
Support the recruitment and admission of students from institutions
within an assigned international territory.
Build personalized relationships with prospective students,
families, school counselors, and other constituents in support of
the recruitment goals for the territory.
Read and evaluate application files in assigned territory, and
oversee and manage the reading volume and deadlines for any direct
reports.
Oversee the travel planning and approval process for direct
reports, and develop an in- depth knowledge of the university's
travel policies, procedures and Concur travel system.
Coordinate travel planning for significant international travel in
target and emerging international markets.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of
education can be substituted for two years of related work
experience). Four years of progressively more responsible
management experience ((including but not limited to: managing
related international recruitment projects, programs, professional
or student staff). Background knowledge of hiring department's area
of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions
for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in
planning and directing employees and processes in order to
effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the
smooth operation of department. Completion of provided supervisory
training within one year of employment may be required.
Master's degree in a related area may be preferred.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the
essential functions of the job as outlined in the position
description.
Preferences
Four or more years of full-time experience in new student
recruitment and/or admissions.
Experience conducting on-the-ground new student recruitment
abroad
Demonstrated experience in developing, executing, and assessing
recruitment strategies and tactics, as well as meeting enrollment
goals.
Understanding the unique challenges and opportunities for
recruiting prospective international students
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal
skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously,
meet deadlines, and find solutions to possible issues.
Ability to communicate complex information to individuals and
groups from all backgrounds.
Demonstrated experience with supervising staff. Capable of working
independently and as part of a team.
Possess a valid driver's license at the time of employment.
Master's degree, with preference given to degrees in higher
education, international policy or relations, public or business
administration.

occasional early mornings, nights, and weekends.
